Great shot - did you see Michele's lesson on macros the other day. I tend to go wide open with my aperture (much like you do I think) and she suggested a higher aperture (like f/8 or higher) for macros. What do you think?
funny, I was just thinking about this because I read a post on DPS about compositing macros to make everything in focus. I was going to make a post on TB about it. My first question was, well why not open up the aperture more?
I think it makes sense with a true macro lens (or tubes) because don't they tend to close everything down more to begin with? Not sure if the same holds true for a standard lens. I feel like the closed aperture forces the subject to become the centre of attention. Plus I am addicted to bokeh, so its hard for me to do it.

Lovely shot! I'm also addicted to bokeh so I'm not sure I would be able to make myself shoot wide open, but I'm intrigued and might just have to try it. Great job!
